The Management Group was honoured to host two distinguished researchers from Canada, Keith Hipel (Professor at the Department of Systems Design Engineering at the University of Waterloo) and Liping Fang (Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs and Student Affairs at the Faculty of Engineering & Architectural Science at Ryerson University) to give our students and researchers a talk on the role of research in policy and environmental issues.

Professor Hipel’s talk was entitled “Technology and Policy Options for a Low-Emission Energy System in Canada“, and summarized the findings from an expert panel on Energy Use and Climate Change. Associate Professor Fang’s talk was entitled “Incorporating Water Demand Management into a Cooperative Water Allocation Framework“, and provided an exciting look into the forefront of how game-theoretic models can be applied to the issue of water conservation.
